Dnepropetrovsk Historical Museum
Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after D.I. Yavornytsky is one of the five best museums in Ukraine.
The museum boasts a long history and remarkable achievements. The museum is over 150 years old with collections of over 250,000 items. It was named after academician Yavornytskyi, a prominent Ukrainian historian who has put much effort into the development of the museum, since being its directodr for 31 years.
Museum exhibits present history and culture of Ukraine, Egypt, Greece, Japan, India and China. Polovtsian stone women, as well as household items, decorations, utensils, which show various aspects of the life of the Scythians and Sarmatians, attract a special attention of the ancient artifacts fans.
The museum will be of interest to all: numismatists, photographers, and lovers of weapons. Museum includes diarama and exhibition halls, several "museums in the museum", a scientific department, a museum center. Museum also displays from different cities and countries.
